Exploring Impressionism and Post-Impressionism
This spring, two exhibitions will bring familiar names like Monet, Cézanne, Degas and Van Gogh to LACMA. This tour introduces students to the colors, textures, and technological advancements that accompanied Impressionism and Post Impressionism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Students will explore how artists broke with tradition, stepped out of the studio and found inspiration in the cities, rural areas, and people that they encountered in everyday life. Each tour will include 5 - 6 objects; a 10 minute discussion at each object includes grade-level appropriate questions and activities.
This tour takes place in LACMA’s Resnick Pavilion.
